Healthy Vegetarian Foods

Diwali-26 October 2011

Diwali or Deepavali is a very auspicious day in the Hindu Calendar, and all Hindus around the world celebrate this day with family, friends and lots of good food, during this time there is no chance of sticking to a “Healthy Eating Plan”.

Generally most of my meals and recipes fall under the “Healthy Vegetarian Foods”, however most of the delicasies (Mitais) that are made for Diwali do not fall into any kind of Healthy catogory, however they are wonderful delicasies to indulge in and Diwali comes once a year, so why not.

I enjoy making mitais, and therefore decided that I will take orders (desikhanna.indianfood@gmail.com) for Diwali Mitais & Biscuits. As i make up these goodies and gift trays i will be sharing the recipes with you.

Its almost that time of the year, Usha – lots of baking and sweetmeat making – lots of fattening foods – each year after Diwali I always say I am not going to make so many goodies and I never remember that the next year. You make such lovely goodies that I am sure you will have lots of orders.
